Civil Lawsuit Filed After Life-Threatening Knife Attack at Lowe’s

Vince Colella has filed a lawsuit earlier this month on behalf of a Harper Woods resident who was injured in a life-threatening knife attach at Lowe's in November of 2o24.

The unprovoked assault left the client with a severe laceration to the right side of his face that severed an artery, causing massive bleeding and blood to fill his lungs. He was rushed to Ascension St. John Hospital where he required emergency treatment and was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. The attack has left him with permanent scarring and ongoing medical complications.

"This was a terrifying and completely unprovoked attack on an innocent customer who was simply shopping for home improvement supplies," said Vince Colella, "our client suffered catastrophic injuries that have forever changed his life, and we intend to hold all responsible parties fully accountable."

Associate Attorney, Brittany Laura Attends 2026 New Lawyers Seminar

Brittany Laura, Associate Attorney at Moss & Colella, attended the 2026 New Lawyers Seminar hosted by the Eastern District of Michigan Bar Association.

The seminar focused on exposing new attorneys to a wide range of practice areas and real-world insights. Attendees heard from Federal Judges and panels of experienced attorneys and were sworn in by Judge Friedman in the historic Million Dollar Courtroom.

Presentations covered topics including negligence, bankruptcy, criminal law, and business law.

Brittany shared:

“It was a really wonderful experience to meet attorneys practicing in different areas of law, learn the dos and don’ts as a new attorney, and gain insight directly from judges and seasoned practitioners.”
