CASE ALERT: Attorney Vince Colella to Begin Medical Malpractice (Wrongful Death) Trial in Grand Traverse County

Moss & Colella is proud to announce that founding partner A. Vince Colella will be representing the family of a man who died as the result of medical malpractice on June 3, 2025, in Grand Traverse County Circuit Court.



The wrongful death lawsuit alleges that medical professionals at Munson Hospital in Traverse City failed to properly diagnose and treat the man's life-threatening bowel condition, resulting in his untimely death in January 2017.​

The man, who had undergone gastric bypass surgery in 2004, presented to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain. Despite his consistent complaints about stomach pain, medical providers allegedly pursued a cardiac procedure rather than addressing the underlying abdominal emergency that ultimately proved fatal.

The trial is expected to last approximately two weeks and will include testimony from medical experts regarding the standards of care in radiology and hospital medicine.​
